History of the GLC badge

GLC is the most unchanged vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz SUV fleet after GLE. The interior and the exterior were pulled without any change to cater the buyer taste. This led to the consumers getting bored of the similar interiors over the years. Meanwhile, Mercedes Benz India playing the wait and watch policy to strike at the right time.

 

 

After the depressing sales graph of the SUV models, it was pretty clear that Mercedes was gearing for a major change on the horizon. In the timeframe of 2018-2019 the GLC sports and Style badge was modified to Prime and Progressive which brought a plethora of changes.

In 2019, GLC got its overdue update to the BS VI engines. The 2.2 litre Diesel was changed to a 2.0 litre engine, which increase the performance by 24 Bhp producing 194Bhp with 400 Nm of torque. GLC 300 was also changed to rear wheel drive from 4 Matic.
