On the outskirts of Pune is Nanoli, a small village that has taken centre stage for some interesting piece of news in the recent past. You needn’t head all the way to the Buddh International Circuit in Noida, the Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai, or even the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore to satiate your thirst for a speed run. You can now do that at the Nanoli Speedway, India’s newest racetrack, a stone’s throw away from Pune, just off the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
The average speed that can be achieved on the track is 123kph while the top speed stands at 222kph. The longest straight and acceleration corner is a respectable 801m. More importantly, the track can be split into two configurations- first is the 2.928km full length circuit and the second - the speed circuit. The east and west circuits can be used simultaneously.
The facility will also harbour the ‘4×4 AND OFF-ROAD CENTRE’, which is a part of the wider vehicle testing facilities. It will have a comprehensive range of terrains and man-made obstacles which feature axle bumps, rock runs, twisting road, gravel hills, ditches and differing types of dirt.
The Nanoli Motor Racing Club (NMRC) has been established for motor enthusiasts. The club membership is by invitation only and members can enjoy an extensive list of benefits that are listed as follows:
